Welcome to Our City, Our Planet
This website was started at the beginning of 2009, Liverpool's "Year of Environment", during which we set out with the aim of taking Liverpool a step closer to becoming truly green and sustainable.
The things we do right here in our city of Liverpool can have a big impact on our planet. That’s why we wanted to tackle climate change and reduce our carbon footprint. We also wanted to celebrate some of the great green initiatives already in action in Our City.
Of course, climate change is not a problem that will go away easily. Although 2009 has passed, and Liverpool is now celebrating 2010 as the Year of Health and Wellbeing, we are continuing this website and all of our sustainability initiatives. We want to help people make changes to the way in which they live their lives and conduct their business, so that we can all work together to do what we can to minimise the use of our planet's precious resources.
