Green Pledge

Welcome to the Our City Our Planet Green Pledge.

The Green Pledge is easy to use and gives you, your community group, business or school the chance to make any number of green pledges for Year of the Environment 2009 and beyond.

It’s up to you to decide what green activity you would like to do. You can either make an individual pledge for yourself, community organisation, business or school to achieve on your own, or you can do something involving other volunteers who’ll assist you in achieving your aim.

All you need to do is pick a pledge from the list, or start a brand new activity.  If you want others to join in, add the number of people needed and set a date for when you want the task completed.  When enough people have signed up to your pledge, go and complete the activity then come back to these pledge pages and mark it as finished.

And why not share your success by taking photographs of you and your fellow pledgers working hard and post them on the Flickr website (tagged with Our City Our Planet Pledge or Liverpool Year of the Environment or Green Liverpool).

Remember, when thinking about how many people you would like to take part in your pledge, be realistic as you want to make sure your goal is achievable. It is up to you to define how many people you would like to assist you but remember to set an achievable goal to ensure that the pledge can be delivered by your completion date

So go on, get involved and start pledging to make our fantastic region a greener, cleaner place to live and work.
